Then increase your range to hear them. At home I have my range set to 50 in order to catch everything I can receive. When I'm mobile I only set it to 0 so I only hear what is directly around me.

If you set it up with detachment center points and radius only covering that detachment's area, you will prevent people from hearing the channel where it is legitimately used outside of that detachment's area. Why is that not of importance to anyone?

I think the spirit of the handbook guideline is that the frequency is only listed where it's used.

If it's legitimately used outside of a detachment's regular area by the detachment, increase the range to cover it.

If it's used by another area, add another entry. It wouldn't qualify as a duplicate since the geotag would be different.

So then this should count for duplicates based on detachments and appropriate radius.

I am with Jay. Jay #15 is to me also.

The way I see it it works for the ones who like to have it at a county level (me) and for the ones that like to just scan the A&B.

I don`t see the reason for any major change.

I have reviewed A4 for Calgary and based on the 3 detachments that use it, I have used a 40 Mile radius from 51.048614, -114.070844. This covers Strathmore just east of Hwy 21, based on Gleichen's boundary, this is likely where they switch to B7.

Another note, Wheatland county is also covered by Drumheller, Bassano, and Beiseker.

Also, as I'm not familiar with the Cochrane site locations I will use something more local to me as another example.

Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch/Alberta Beach are all linked together on B5, A15, & B11.

I have all 3 sites setup as different departments.

B5 - 53.610000 -114.151105 @ 19 Miles
A15 - 53.482957 -113.750510 @ 7 Miles
B11 - 53.676660 -114.349997 @ 11 Miles

As I use priority for all public safety, my BCD536HP will also prioritize by department quick key.

I have B5 as quick key 19, A15 as quick key 7, and B11 as quick key 11.

There is overlap with all 3 sites, based on lat/lon & radius, however department quick key priority will switch to the department with the smallest radius.

Again, just how I prefer to program my favorite lists, with RCMP as it's own conventional system and a separate department for each physical repeater site.

Even county based fire services, they are programmed as their system with departments for each physical repeater location with the radius based on their service area.
