RCS Phase 2 Transition Timeline/Technical Details.

Hey All,
Maybe I haven't dug deep enough, just looking for details on the new future system. And yes I hate to ask but, if main dispatch talk groups will stay in the clear. I would assume that Motorola is still the main vendor.

Short summary:

- Motorola P25 Phase 1 / Phase 2 network
- Some reconfiguration (1 additional simulcast cell) and new sites
- No wholesale encryption of the network
- Starting functional testing later this month.
- Estimated transition start date of Sept. 2019
- Agencies who are "Phase 2 ready" will migrate to Phase 2 operation.

I used "wholesale encryption" in the context of Orange County and PSEC, where all traffic is encrypted. Individual RCS agencies have the option of encrypting or not.
