R30 Re install the CS software help

Had to reinstall my OS. Reinstalled all my software which inclused the CS software. Can't get it to recognize my R30 when plugged in. Is there a file I need to download to go along with the CS software? I looked on Icom web site but didn't see anything. Been awhile since doing this so a little fuzzy on this. A search on the com port comes up with 1. Did update the software for v 1.10. Still won't take to the radio. Help appreciated.

First thing I would try is... make sure the R30 is in CLONE mode
Second thing.. When you bring up the CS-R30 software, on the top bar, there is a item called COM PORT, click on that and then click on the SEARCH button and see what it finds. Accept what it finds.

If you installed the software from the disk, it should have installed the driver, if you downloaded the software from ICOM site, you probably have to also download and install the driver from the ICOM site.

I have the disk. I will check the clone mode. Com port shows only com port 1. I select that. Doesn't talk to the radio.

Clone mode is part of the last menu option, same place as you find battery status

After I updated to 1.10, I pulled the sd card and it read it fine. Still won't talk to the radio. The sd card route works though.

Try a different cable, a different usb port or try installing ARC30 {free version} for a new driver installation. If you uninstall ARC30 I think it leaves the new driver installed.

I tried ARC30 paid version. Sucked. Bought Icom software and works great. Will try a different USB port but it does work just plugging the sd card into the computer and editing.

One more thing to check...

By default, the USB CONNECT parameter is set to SERIAL PORT.

To edit the content of the SD card while it is in the R30 receiver, the USB CONNECT has to be set to SD CARD MODE

ie.... MENU -> FUNC -> USB CONNECT -> select SD CARD MODE and push the enter button. That way you don't have to remove the SD card from the receiver.

As I'm expecting a "new to me" R30 shortly (Yay! I've been after one of these for a good while!) I'm preparing the necessary bits and bobs of software to talk to it...I note that the CS-R30 comes on a CD/DVD but I have no access to a drive to read such a disc. Is the software available as a download from anywhere? The only ones I have found on the Icom support site are updates and won't play as I don't have the software already installed.
