There is several P25 sites in range to receive but I can not. I have my antenna on a 40 ft tower but can not receive 700 & 800 MHZ sites. I also have a tower maybe 3 or 4 block from me that has radio station and Cell tower stuff on it. I think it knocks out signals for 700 & 800 mhz. Now if I take my 436HP with a duck antenna on it away from my neighborhood that scanner come's to life and I can hear towers that I can not on my sds200, 996P2 and 996XT on a St2 up 40 ft. IS there a filter or something I could use to help me hear 700 & 800 mhz?

have you tried using the back of the set antennas to cut down on receiving too much ?
Noway that will work I'm inside a Faraday cage. My house has aluminum siding and under that it's metal

Smells like simulcast distortion to me. Can't say for sure since the OP didn't provide specific system(s) / sites
No it's not simulcast distortion something just knocks the signal out. When the Illinois State police is in my neigborhood that can't hear nothing on their radio and have to use cell phone. I trying to pickup a Starcom tower in Mendon, IL and Quincy, IL and also Moswin towers in Canton, Mo and Palmyra, Mo. But like I said if I leave the neighborhood I can pick them all up easy my my 436HP in the truck on a duck antenna. Oh by the way I'm trying to listen to these at home on my SDS200 & Scantenna ST-2 up 40 ft I even tried a magmount outside and no good.

It has been discussed before that both Starcom21 and MOSWIN have very directional antennas along the state borders to prevent overlap into neighboring state. You might not be able to receive very well outside the state borders.

Well it's funny I can pick them both up away from my house on a duck antenna. It has to be that radio station down the street or the cell tower.

Like I said I can not receive nothing on 700 & 800 MHZ. Is there a filter to knock out the radio station or cell stuff?

and that is why i am saying to try the inputs.
the inputs are 45 Mhz down and away from the outputs.
you have to put them all in and can not trunk.
i am away from most of the action in my county, but i still hear them in the neighborhood.
