I've used SoLinc on the L3H subscribers and the audio quality isn't much better than P25. I think this is due to MCPTT using a lower bitrate for decreased data consumption and higher reliability in fringe coverage areas. I could definitely see how someone could confuse the overheard audio with P25 or other digital LMR modes. Keep in mind that most of those state boyz videos are from the Troop C (Atl Metro) area where they're still leveraging the municipal P25 TRS for communication and not SoLinc.
