Hi all!

So I finally have the cable from Uniden and was ready to go.

I connected the RH to my scanner and ...... nothing.

I can't seem to get the RH to talk to the scanner. I have looked through the user manual and it is a little vague and doesn't really give a step by step procedure. I have a feeling I may simply be missing a simple step. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

I believe so. I made sure the front port was configured at the highest COM speed. Is there something else that needs to happen?

Have you checked the firmware version of your RH-96?

Older firmware will not work properly with the XT models.

I think it has version 1.0 on it. I looked on the Uniden website and cant find a firmware update. Do you have a link to it?

I'm pretty sure it needs an upgrade to work with the XT.

I searched on the Uniden site for an upgrade in firmware. Couldn't find anything. Any suggestions?

Type "RH-96 firmware update" into Google and a link to the firmware on the Uniden site will pop up.

To UPMan, you are saying you can extend the data cable using a stereo ext. cable? I am building a new truck up and I need about 4 ft to make it work or I will have to remove the seat and cut the carpet to make the 10 ft work..

Can somebody kindly post the pinout for the RH-96 [USB-4mini to 3.5mm Stereo Male] cable?

Thanks.
