For the life of me, I cannot figure out what is going on. My understanding is that I should be able to use the main ProScan app, over ethernet, to listen to the audio from my SDS200. So far, I've just had no luck.

I can connect and control the scanner fine. In the RSOIP tab, I've connected to the Input Sound Device via URL, with the IP address of my scanner. (See images.) I see no activity in the audio meters in the software, and no audio from my PC. What am I missing?

Thanks for that suggestion - I shut down the scanner and turned the power strip off too. I also rebooted my PC since I just updated ProScan to 18.3.1 - stranger things have happened. Unfortunately, neither seems to have made a difference.

One odd thing I noticed is the ProScan is not listed in either the Volume Mixer or the "App volume and device preferences"

Try power cycling the scanner.

Did you try these suggestions circled in the image below? Also verify the IP address is of the scanner.

I think it will show up when playing audio through ProScan. Get the received audio from the scanner first.

I made sure to try those suggestions in my latest round tinkering trying to figure this out.
  • Scanner has been restarted multiple times
  • Main firmware version is 1.10.00 and Sentinal reports no updates are available
  • I've disabled & enabled IP settings in the scanner several times. My latest attempt was to assign a new IP address in my router using the scanner MAC address.
  • Used TCPView to verify that ProScan was the only software accessing the scanner's IP address.
  • I don't use AVG, I use Malwarebytes, but I did disable my virus protection completely to see if it made a difference
So far no luck. I even went as far as to unplug the external speaker.

Does IP Audio use a particular ports beyond want is listed in the dialog? I'm wondering if I might be having some sort of firewall issue?

The problem ended up being Windows Firewall. The Public and Private network profiles were setup differently. One of them was set to block all Proscan traffic for both TCP & UDP. Enabled it and everything works as expected.

Thanks for sticking in there with me!
Matt

Negative. Perhaps temporarily disable any Internet Security/Antivirus software for a test.
