Remote Start causing RFI?

Hello all,

I installed a Code Alarm VSS Remote Start this past weekend and all went without a hitch. However, I noticed something odd...since that was installed, from time to time, I get bursts of what sounds like telemetry on the Med channels (463 MHz). Doesn't matter which channel - it hits them all. The vehicle can be idling or moving and it happens sporadically. I tried running Close Call on the 996 when it started, but no joy. Anyone else run into this or have an idea?

*EDIT* - no EMS transmits telemetry over the Med channels in this area...

Simlpe way to find out.Disconnect it.

My car just emits a field of interference on the 460 range. When I idle its a quiet chirping, when I hit the gas it's a loud screech, when i hit the brakes it sounds like a jet engine powering down.


I've been told this is due to a bad alternator or poor wire shielding on the spark plug wires.


Might want to check that everything is securely connected or that your alternator didn't start burning out from the extra electronics.
