Priority system for dispatching. Biggest change for listeners will be that instead of just Code 3 / Code 5, it's now 5 colour codes. Wikipedia page has this as being a UK thing, but Peel has been operating with that. Toronto uses the alpha-bravo-charlie etc for their 5 levels.

Interesting... why are they using this when other CACCs aren't? Or are they all switching at some point?

Supposedly (according to a post a bit ago on here) everyone is supposed to move to this system at some point.
Ottawa changed last month. Now they are pushing it to all the CACC's around that Ottawa pulls into their black hole of EMS coverage.
Everyone will be moving to it sooner or later.

Patient conditions are given to paramedics are bit different also, letters and numbers......
Gotta be confusing for the ones that also go to Ottawa. I am in Ottawa's area, but Kingston CACC is a kilometer away and often cover calls in our area. Would have made more sense to do the change over for all of Ontario at once?

MPDS better assigns priorities, reducing the number of code 4s.
They measured the systems by looking at how many times they dispatch outbound as code 4, and look at the actual return code after assessment by paramedics. The current dispatch systems over prioritizes, meaning a whole lot of outbound code 4s were coming back in as 3s or less.

2:14am was the first call, a code red with ACP backup.
