Hello, so my problem is simple. Everytime I try to play any recordings recorded on my scanner (bcd436hp) my scanner reboots spontaneously. This happens every time I try to access the replay menu to replay the recordings or when I hold the replay button for 2 seconds to get to this place. I can't understand why it's doing this, and I don't know how to fix it if there's any way to do that. Thank you in advance

First thing to do is try a different sd card. Card errors or failure can cause that sort of problem.

Connect the scanner to a windows computer with a USB cable in mass storage mode and windows will check the file integrity of the file system and will also ask if it should correct any errors.

Thanks to everyone who has replied, I tried programming another SD as mentioned by the last reply and it seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks again to everyone who has replied, much appreciated!

Does the old SD card have recordings on it?

Yes, it did. The SD card is an 8 GB one, and I have at least 4 GB worth of recordings on it. I guess what you're saying makes sense. Anyway, I followed someone's suggestion to simply to get another and program it. Now the replay feature works again and doesn't cause my scanner to reboot every time I open it up to replay some recordings. I'll definitely keep your advice in mind from your last post. Thanks

If you have certain recordings you'd like to keep you'll be able to save them once you plug it into a computer under the audio file. You can also delete all of them without having to individually delete them off the scanner. I have had the same issue, but with the latest firmware (536hp), the scanner doesn't reboot, but instead ill stop scanning and give you a message that the card is full. To get around that press the Enter button, and scanning will resume but you won't be recording.

Once you do this, you'll have a back up SD card too.
