Been watching 463.2875 Mhz for a bit and noticed a morse code identifyer from a local communications outfit. I am curious if this system is still operational. If anyone can copy the ID which rolls around every hour or so, please report. I am wondering if this system is in use or not. Thank you.

I usually gather recordings and run them through Audacity so I can replay & get a visual on the waveform if the signal is strong enough. Helps tremendously to know at the minimum what morse digits sound & look like. Highly unlikely you'll have more than one station within range with the same 3 trailing digits (862 for the station in question?) so...utilize your FCC lookup tool of choice to research what you heard/saw and you'll get your answer. Include expired & terminated licenses if necessary.

I have decoded the morse. That is how I knew it was the telephone # of a communications outfit in Trenton. I am asking for a little help in identifying what type of activity (if any) is on 463.2875 and if it is analog or digital etc.

Telephone # or Call Sign ?
Please share...

IF it belongs to a Radio Shop they likely lease out (guessing without seeing the license) to local business users

Maybe post what you have? Any numbers decoded?

There is a license for a trunked system that may or may not be in use, and is not in the database. County of Mercer, seems like county parks use.

Appreciate the replies. I can barely receive, but every so often 6093940001 is broadcast. It is the telephone number for MPS Communications, 1420 S. Broad St. Trenton, NJ.

sounds like
a. someone got a used controller and did not reprogram it
b. current controller not programmed correctly as it is generally the FCC Callsign not a phone #

Don't see in NJ or PA a license for that company, unless I missed it.
Even checked expired licenses.

Anyone know if MPS ran under a prior name ???

Thanks to Dave, for the list and Yup, not licensed under MPS for that Frequency

Interesting, thanks. I figured there must be someone out there who can receive this freq well, and thought I'd ask if they would give it a listen... You know...
