Does anyone have a hard time monitoring the Richmond channels? I have had two scanners to try and pick up Madison County trunked II system. I have had success and the only problem is its very difficult to hear sometimes with a lot of interference. Does anyone else have this problem? I live on EKU campus and our own police are hard to pick up/understand with the interference. I have bought a 800MHZ Radioshack Antenna it helped a bit, but not too much. I am investing in a better one and hopefully will have it soon. Lexington stations came in fine. Its this damn trunked 800 MHZ system that is bothering me.

HELP?

Just a hunch...

You might be in a signal Overload situation which will desense the receiver.

Try listening to the Madison County system with the antenna OFF the radio.

I get to Madison County frequently and have not had problems receiving this system on a Pro-94 or 97.

Good luck.

I monitor them well from Irvine, which is about 20 miles from you. I can also recieve them in Winchester well, and of course, they boom in when I'm in Richmond. :)

Don't let it bother you. Trunking systems are overwheling at first, well, they were for me anyway, but once I got my teeth cut, they're as easy as scanning conventional frequencies. What type of scanner do you have? I drive to Richmond every morning to get my work truck, maybe we could meet up after work and I could help you with programming.

I have software for most of the RadioShack scanners and could possibly program your scanner with my laptop.
