Something strange is happening with Rock East and West, I am noticting that units that are typically assigned to East and West are showing on on either channel (East and West) for example, one moment a unit from Newton or Kingston could be talking on East and now they are talking on West. Sometimes I hear Candia on East and then back on West. Anyone have the info on what is happening. Seems very strange. All I can think of is it is some vote scanning thing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I've noticed the same thing has happened a few times.
I first noticed it on November 15th, before the move to the new building. I've also noticed three new UIDs for Rock that have appeared since the move: 8006, 8009 and 80005 (new dispatch consoles maybe).

I have heard a few times where Rock tells the Unit they are on the wrong channel too (not Signal 1000 related either)

Yes, each console at every dispatch center in the state is supposed to have an individual ASTRO ID number following this scheme:

Three Digit ORI followed by a two digit "serial" number.

For example, OP 3 at RCSO is supposed to be 80003

The reason for five digits is because state agencies own everyrhing from 1-9999. We placed consoles at 10000 to 99999, and then local units are the six digits 100000 to 999999. Of note, feds usually use seven digits, so if you see that, it's likely a fed radio.

Used to be back in the day with Centracom you'd see four digits console IDs and they were tied to the Motorola DIUs, so like in Rock you'd see two IDs, one for east and one for west and it didn't matter what console was keyed up. When we rolled out the MCC platform in the state, we started moving to five digit and serializing. Part of the reason was for technicians- so when someone complained the audio sucked, we could track it right down to what console was being used to troubleshoot to that level.
