RS Glass Mount Antenna

Just curious what people think of this antenna. I am mostly interested in scanning 800mhz digital P25 systems.

They can do a good job on 800 if the window doesn't have metallic window tint. How well it works is really determined by following the instructions to the letter, including using alcohol wipes to clean the windows inside and out and precisely aligning the inside and outside bases.

I own one and use it on the 800 mot II system here. Works great even outside the city. Again, it does not work well when on tint. But if it is on bare window with no resistors near it (IE: Heated window) then it will work fine. Still not as good as a mag mount.

VHF glass mount

I monitor a VHF TRS system with the same glass mount antenna-- I followed it to the letter also. No Joy for me. Good luck for you on a different system.

I had no luck with the Radio Shack glass mounts. After 3 weeks I took them back off the truck.

Mine works very well. Saved from drilling holes.

Been using one for several years and have had pretty decent reception with it. Did notice an odd noise at freeway speeds when I first got it, but that was eliminated by adding some heat shrink tubing over the coil.
