If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi All, this radio looks interesting for it's broad coverage. I believe it can scan memory channels. Specifically I'd like to know if you could scan all your saved airband memories (I think you can from what I've seen in YouTube videos so far). And if so, what kind of scanning speed. A quick Google search didn't turn up much. I know the faster the better, since if it's a slow scan, you can often miss the first few seconds of a transmission before the scanning cycle reaches that frequency again. If there are no specs on this, could someone give me a ballpark idea, like 5 channels a second, 10, etc. I don't expect it to be like an Icom churning through hundreds of channels a second, but if it's really slow I'd see that as a minus. Thanks.

Mine is on order. There is a Facebook Group for the 950 Pro with a ton of info and videos of the radio. Worth a look.

Thanks, I'll have a look. Good luck with your new radio. I'll probably order one sooner or later.

Yes, you can add AM memory channels in the CPS. I just loaded 29 aviation channels into a separate zone and uploaded them to my RT-950pro. The scanning speed appears to be fairly quick for a 2-way radio, at about 5 seconds for the 29 channels (approx 5.8 ch/sec).
Thus far, Radtel has been pretty good at releasing frequent FW updates and adding features.

Thanks for that info, very useful. I haven't found that info anywhere else on the web. Looking forward to learning it. Scan speed isn't too bad I guess if you limit the number of channels you want to scan. I usually only scan 20 channels or thereabouts, so it should cycle through them in well under 5 seconds.
