Will this work on USB 3.0 ports, I just got a new laptop that has both 2.0, and 3.0 ports.\

Hum, Mine worked on my New Laptop and it has USB 2 and 3
(RTL2832U+R820T2 a 8.70 Ebay special)

Unfortunately many USB 3.0 controllers are buggy and don’t work with some devices. Generally, USB 3.0 works fine with the RTL-SDR, but there are some controllers that will just recognise the dongle. In this case use a USB 2.0 port instead.

I just checked: My Toshiba Qosimo X75-A7295 has 4 USB 3 ports - The RTL2832U+R820T2 I got from China off of Ebay works on it.

It may be the specific Computers that can be an issue

Mine work fine on USB 3.0 ports (The same NooElec dongles, Transformer Book T100TA with docking station attached). They also work through a USB 3.0 hub attached to the same machine. I'd also suspect the controller hardware.

It does work after all, the program I was using, had an older dll, got the newest, and it's working just fine.
