RTL-SDR domgle amd SDRSharp

Got all setup and everything working then shut it down. Now I'm getting nothing but static across the available frequencies. Is there a reset for SDRSharp? any ideas? Thanks Dave

What operating system and hardware?
I had similar thing happen to my Windows 10 Surface. Had to install twice. Key for me was to use command prompt in administrative mode to get it going. Also the choice of USB port made a difference.

Make sure you have the proper driver installed for using the dongle. I found that sometimes you have to reload the driver. Google Zadig for the driver software.

I had to do that a few times as well when I was using Windows 10, but since going back to Windows 7, I've not had to reload the drivers since the initial installation.

I had that issue today as well. Not with static though. Either it wouldn't start when you clicked the play button, or it would say it couldn't find the dongle. I had to use the dongle install batch file again and re load the drivers with zadig.

The funny thing is I also have SDR console v2 and it would work, but SDR# wouldn't, go figure.

I also figured out this thing doesn't play nice with USB extension cables. The dongle is kind of large for a usb device and blocks the ports next to it, so I used an extension cable to try and get around it. Worked ok for a while, then started doing goofy stuff. Maybe I just need a better cable.

The same exact thing happened to me last week out of nowhere (I hadn't used it for a few weeks). I too reloaded the drivers, but the performance doesn't seem to be the same. I wonder if it had anything to a Windows 10 update?
