Suffolk 800mhz system

Does anyone know how many Tx & Rx sites Suffolk uses for its 800mhz system? The FCC shows no sites on the north or south forks.

800 MHz public safety systems are site licensed, meaning each transmitting site is in the FCC database. So in general, what you see is what you get.

FYI, Suffolk County has 6 sites for their 800mhz system. One of which is on the south fork.

Sites numbered according to the Suffolk 800mhz FCC license:
Site 2 - Huntington
Site 3 - Stony Brook
Site 4 - Yaphank
Site 5 - Riverhead
Site 6 - Hampton Park
Site 8 - Hauppauge

There is no site 7, as according to the license site 7 are all the mobile units. Suffolk's FCC license is: WNNM880.

I figured that they had more than what was listed w/the FCC, thanks anyway gents.

And studgeman, that is really not true. Many agencies big & small have more/less transmitters than they're licensed for. Look at Nassau Firecom. FCC shows them having 1 tx site location - Mineola, when in fact they have around 12 low band sites. Suffolk FRES also has a few more sites that aren't listed w/the FCC.

That would be illegal, and bad engineering practice.

There may be multiple receiver sites which do not need to be licensed.

Rudy, can you name any agency that is running an 800 system with unlicensed sites?

I have personal knowledge of quite a few unlicensed stations (non-800, however), and no, I'm not going to shout them out here in public.

I know of a local radio shop that operates several uncoordinated and unlicensed repeaters. Some of them are LTR trunked.
