Has anyone out in the RR community managed to get ScannerCast to run as a Windows service?
I think that it's absolutely nuts to be forced to run this single application under a logged on user with no other purpose in mind! I want to have this user logged of so that if something else requires an automatic restart, I don't have to bumble around messing with this user account. Further, this is potential security risk and there is NO REASON that I can think of that would hinder this running at startup of Windows Server 2008/2012 (or XP/Vista/7/8) with appropriate security credentials and dependencies (if messed).
I have this darn thing about to be moved to a virtual machine host because it's hampering my true purpose of it and I'm sure people out there would find this useful in the new version within the GUI (perhaps at install too) but surely there's a command-line or powershell script that can be executed and convert this and/or dependencies to an automatic service for startup.
Thanks and please feel to comment,
