I am wishing to scan both police and fire from my city's trunked system, putting police entirely on the left channel and fire entirely on the right (arbitrary choices for left and right) so that while listening, I can adjust the balance depending on what my priority is at the moment. I have found that I could lockout and set priorities of talkgroups in "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Unitrunker\Unitrunker.xml" so I was able to lockout other city services, but I can't see any other ways to do what I want. I was thinking though, if I could run a different instance of Unitrunker, with each version using different channels locked out, I could have the audio output of one instance go to Virtual Audio Cable 1 (VAC1), the other to Virtual Audio Cable 2 (VAC2) and then route VAC1 to LEFT and VAC2 to RIGHT on VAC3, making VAC3 be the stereo cable to stream. I just don't know if I can and if so, how to run Unitrunker a second time with different settings.

In the same unitrunker you can have multiple dongle listening to multiple trunk system.
Try to assign 2 dongles for the voice channel and see if you can configure each of them to a different output VAC channel maybe ?

I have learned a bit since initially asking for advice but not quite yet where I need to be. The different talk groups are all in the same system, so it's not a different system. I also learned I can set up several VCO's per tuner dongle and each VCO can be set to a different audio channel. Now I need to find a way to limit a VCO to specific talk groups. Documentation for Unitrunker is its biggest weakness.

You cannot assign a talkgroup to a vco, but you can limit the priority level that will go to a vco. If you wanted to listen to only 2 talk groups you could assign talkgroup an 1 vco priority 1 and 1 vco and talkgroup 2, tg 2 would only be on vco 2, tg1 could be on 1 or 2. For more than 2, you can have multiples at the same level or you could rank all talkgroup a in order - fire dispatch 1, police dispatch 2, fireground 3, police tac 4 etc- the highest 2 will always go to you vcos, if you have 2 at the same level the first active channel takes priority.
