its still listed under the parks, is that channel still there even tho theyre dispatched thru sheriff channels?
Yes. As far as the SRRCS people are concerned, nothing changed. All of the talkgroups still exist and can be used by the rangers. However, at this point, they're only used as a talkaround and to communicate with people in the office and the civilian non-sworn employees of the department that are never going to be switched over to SSD dispatching. The rangers were specifically forbidden by policy from using the PR RAN channel to have office staff run records checks.

Yes but it is not park ranger "dispatches".

Well he asked if the channel was still used, not dispatches :)

Today they had MDT training - They'll be able to communicate with SSD Dispatch and Officers via MDT - Once they're all installed.

I know they have at least 3 of the 5 installed. I'm hoping to ride on Friday and Monday to check them out. The setups are sweet.

Apparently Tim was a little frustrated with the "slow learners" group at training (and I empathize with his plight). Curious to see how it goes IRL. I know a few of the guys are really excited about this.
