The Trunked Radio Database will be updated soon to split out the "A" and "B" tour radio systems that City of Salem Fire, Cherriots (Now Salem Transit?), and Public Works utilize, with the Keizer PD (maybe?).
While I will be spending a day or two in Salem in the near future capturing whatever current, accurate data I can about talkgroup utilization there, I would also like to solicit anybody that listens exclusively to either one or the other to tell me what you hear most commonly.
This is being done because of the fact that the two radio systems are not a single system -- they are seperate, autonomous radio systems. They have distinct Motorola trunked system identification numbers. The only thing they have in common is that some talkgroups are utilized on both systems by the same users. (A Fire and B Fire in specific, although I am positive there must be others.)
I have also heard rumors lately that Salem PD channels 1 and 3 are being rebroadcast on trunked talkgroups. It is not clear if these are bidirectional patches or not.
Any information anyone can contribute would be welcome here. I (or one of the other database admins here at RR) will make sure it gets put in the appropriate system's queue.
