Sarasota Fire Department Sites?

Hello....

I will be in Sarasota and am Interested in listening in to Sarasota FD Dispatch, TAC, and MedCom Channels.

According to the database, it shows the county has 6 sites.

Which site(s) should I plug in to my scanner so I can monitor each of the above Talk groups?

If your scanner supports multi-site you should program all of the sites. But you'll likely find most of the action on the Sarasota site.

Thanks for the reply... Yes, my scanner allows me to monitor up to Phase 2 P25.

What do you recommend loading just the Sarasota site or all six of them.?

Depends where you are going to be, SO I would program all 6 sites control channel and just sit back and enjoy listening.

Thanks...I will be in the area of Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Listening to their MedCom would be great as to know what type of Patients/Chief Complaints are being transported in.

Thanks for the help... Sarasota site was loaded into the scanner and I am hearing everything Crystal Clear.

Are you hearing Tacs also?

I was down there last week, had all sites into my 436. Basically I only heard Tone out and Dispatch channels. I didn't hear any Tac channels. The proper banks (or departments or however they're set up) were active and during a call on Tac 1 I sat on Tac 1 and heard nothing.

It was programmed via Butel using RR download. I was across the street from Sarasota Airport.

I heard a lot of traffic on the Toneouts and Dispatch, and heard Manatee Countys system fine also.

So just curious if Tacs are encrypted, or are the listings wrong, or am I a dumbass and programmed something wrong?

The dispatch and tac channels are coming in clear along with medcom.

Sarasota was the only site I selected for this area.

Remember, all FDs only use Tac channels when they have an assignment that involves a Command element to be used.

By the way, I am located near Sarasota Memorial Hospital in a Three story apt. I happen to be on the top floor. I have full signal and the "T" is solid with my PRO 668 using a RS 800mhz antenna.

The system itself was loud and clear as I was near the airport. I was there a few days and never heard any of the Tacs, even when designated, so I'm suspecting a programming error.
