Anyone know if Lambton County fire is still on this system? I happened to check it today and strange things are afoot. The control channel is currently on 858.5625 which the database shows as LCN 4, however EWTrunk and my Pro-106 agree that it's currently LCN 2. I've been sitting on it for a few hours now and there hasn't been any activity what so ever.

I have heard fire recently on the system, but don't recollect hearing them this year. Paging test used to be around 7 pm or a little later, that might be a good time to listen.

Thanks, I will keep an ear for that. I let Trunker run all night on the system and it recorded no activity at all. Looks like this system has maybe been decommissioned.

I have one hit for the Kettle Point FS in a week (1 second), nothing else from any Fire Depts in Lambton for a long time, even through the "Snowmageddon"

Did they move to a different system? I am thinking yes

Wonder why the edacs system is still active then if nobody is on it, Didnt public works use to be on there too and they moved off to a different system.
Seems edacs is to be decaying system around ontario

Works and Transit are both TRBO.... so that basically only left county fire on the system. Maybe they are just running VHF now and that's it... but like you said, why change the LCN of the control channel and leave it running if nobody is on it?

And yes, I would expect EDACS will slowly fade out over the next few years since Harris has dropped the product line. They will likely push everyone to P25 platforms if they can. Chatham-Kent is still 'relatively' new so I would expect then to hang around for a while. Since the Halton system is being changed out I guess the next big one would be KW (besides the London system of course).

KW just had changes done and stuff havnt they?
They are ALWAYS busy when ever i listen in.. but so is london we just cant hear them.. Brantford still has edacs, They are not to big and im sure wouldnt mind going to P25 once Harris comes around and says HEY.. do this because its better and not out dated

Wonder if the Wallaceburg CACC still has the macom orion in their office for dispatching county fire depts from. I know some FF's around that area ill ask them what kind of radios they have in their trucks.. I know one guy said he was looking for VHF radio to monitor his dept. Perhaps they did move off edacs. Ill see if i can get him to take me to his dept and have a peek around the trucks and office for any signs of edacs gear.. and if soooo if its on.

Good guess if its not on.. they arnt using it

St. Clair twp. Fire Depts. Dispatching

I hear them testing county f. d.s on 154.6200 Monday nights, although the volume seems low. Also hear testing of Point Edward on same Freq. I think Sarnia F.D. dispatches them, not sure. I know a couple of deputy chiefs in London, I will try and find out if they are going P25 any time soon. I will let you know. BILL67.

What's in the database won't currently work... something has changed with the system and we haven't been able to piece the details together yet. For the most part it would seem this system is slowly being shut down.

I know all the county fire depts in lambton are dispatched out of the wallaceburg cacc building.
When i was in their new dispatch center saw a orion radio sitting on their channel and the dispatcher told me they do all lambton county fire other then point edward and sarnia fire, Everything els was covered by the wallaceburg cacc.

That was one of the main reasons for the new cacc building to stay in wallaceburg and not move to chatham was so they can still dispatch out the lambton county fire detps, If it went to chatham lambton would of had to build a new site to cover lambton ems and county fire depts.. Good thing that didnt happen. Chatham steals everything from the other communitys in CK :)

paging tests being done on the system right now 19:12pm . Control switched to control 1 yesterday or before.
My scanner does not have 858.01250 programmed in, I only have it as a 5 channel system. No claim to have it correct.

i had both my scanners running the pro 90 and 106 during the county fire pager test and on the pro 90 i can hear wallaceburg testing there pagers in the clear along with the beeping at the end of the transmission on the edacs system however on the 106 i see them transmitting and i see the talkgroup id's but can't hear them is there a setting that i need to change so i can hear them.

but as of right now the county is still using edacs

.... looks like the control channel is on 858.0625 now, which is currently being identified as LCN 1. I will try to keep an eye on it the next few days, then I'm in Sarnia Wed/Thurs/Fri I believe so be able to have a better listen then.
