thanks alot

SaskPower runs on SaskTel Fleetnet. You will need a trunktracking scanner that will track EDACS wide systems.

Sasktel Fleetnet system 2 is the one you want to program in. Then listen to Talkgroups between 129 and 230.

Saskpower mostly communicates via I-Call, so if you have a current UNIDEN trunktrackerIII or better then also pay attention to LIDS between 1000 to 1800.

Also note that SaskPower will be moving to the new RCMP P25 digital system in the future. I would imagine this move will take place once ALL of Saskatchewan have these P25 digital systems implimented. Currently there is no scanner that will track the control channel but the newest digitals like the 396T and the PRO96 are able to convert the P25 digital comms back to analog in conventional mode.

Sasktel has said that they plan to mothball fleetnet at the end of this year, but with 2 months left in the year I have seen no evidence SaskPower is moving anytime soon.

Richster.

Sask power is rumored to be switching in spring 2007. As far as fleetnet goes, the shut down date has been pushed back to 2009 due to no comm replacement for fire and EMS.

If you have no P25 digital comms in your area, or you have and you don't want to bother hearing them, then the 246T is an excellent first choice. You can always get a digital scanner later in the future.

Thanks for that update emsguy!!

HA!

Usless-gadget-shack wouldn't have anything like a product able to recieve radio signals. If they did, they would want way too much for it.

In Canada there basically are two choices.

Radioworld:

Durhamradio:
http://www.durhamradio.com/s/product.php?productid=45360&cat=1839&page=1

Many people order from the states. If you do I recommend http://www.scannersunlimited.com.
Glenn is top notch.
