I hear nothing when listening to Sayerville with SDRTrunk. I'm in Old Bridge, at the border with Sayerville. System downloaded directly from RadioReference: Control, Single, LSM, all 4 frequencies are control. Any help is appreciated.

Antenna details? Type, location? What band are these frequencies? What is your RF environment like?

Do you only have one SDR dongle? What is the spectrum spread of the frequencies (control & voice)?

Assuming OP is referring to Sayreville Simulcast here. Sayreville law enforcement is entirely encrypted as denoted by mode "TE" talkgroups and therefore cannot be monitored. Only Fire, EMS, DPW & schools talkgroups not designated as "TE" can be monitored

I am using 2 rtl-sdr dongles. I know police are encrypted, but I hear noo EMS, Fire, Local, nothing. Antenna is a discone, up about 30' on my tower.

Ok, my last shot at help:

How does your SDRtrunk signal meter read on control channel?
Do you get & keep a lock on control channel?
How is your gain set?
What does your waterfall look like? How much scattered yellow noise dots?

Plenty of signal on the waterfall display. Control channel IS locked. I DO see encrypted calls for the PD. I never see any other traffic detected. I attached 2 photos.

It looks like you've got the channel setup correctly, it's locked onto the control channel, and it's obviously receiving call grants as we see the PD is active. We also see that you setup an alias list for the system, and if you used the import from RR feature, it should've set all of the unencrypted talkgroups to Listen = yes, but double check that. Also double check that the audio output device is set correctly, and that you've built the JMBE Audio Library, otherwise it's not going to decode any voice.

Finally, you should clarify whether you can't hear any non-PD activity, or you don't see any non-PD activity. You stated both, but they're kind of two different things. If you never see any other activity besides the PD talkgroup(s), then you're obviously not going to hear anything. If you see unencrypted traffic, but don't hear anything, that's entirely different.

Could just be that the other talkgroups are seldom used. Have you verified with a scanner or other receiver/software?

I Do not ' SEE ' any other activity. Listening to NJICS and Old Bridge works fine. The only anomaly is with Sayerville. If I compare with Old Bridge, there are many EMS calls per hour. True, it can be silent for some time, but I can listen to Sayerville for HOURS with nothing.

not sure if u found a resolution to this, but if not try programming the mdsex county system and just putting in sayreville TG, i hear them all day through the system, i know this doesn’t solve the issue of why tour not hearing them on their own system but at least u will be able to listen

Thanks! That suggestion works. Listen to Middlesex County, but listen ONLY to Sayreville/South Amboy Talkgroups.
