A couple of years ago I began hearing a lot of encrypted traffic on the Santee Repeater on 151.325 Mhz. Can anyone tell me if it is Motorola DVP, or just what kind of system it is? Just curious because it seems to sound a lot different than other encryption that I have heard over the years.

its probably AES256. was it on analouge or p25 the database has it currently listed as fm. they are also probably using AES256 on palmetto 800 as well. as stated in my earlier post most of their dispatch channels on palmetto 800 are encrypted while ops and statewide are in the clear. im currently monitoring

as the dnr vhf repeaters fail or need more parts i think is when they will start switching fully to palmetto 800 but at the moment it seems they have started to switch. they are currently using their ops and statewide channels as dispatch. i have also heard some traffic on

but all of the traffic on these channels has been fully encrypted while in the clear on ops and statewide talk groups as stated in post #22. i have been hearing a lot of traffic on the palmetto 800 talkgroups then on vhf but there is still some vhf traffic. i wonder if they are going to switch and then keep the vhf system as a backup or take the vhf system down completely after the switch.

You can add 27419 to your list, I hear it on the Aiken 800 tower (the one near the Sheriff's Dept. I think it is Aiken County and associated counties.

Yea all the ops channels are active they are being used as region wide dispatch at the moment till the regular dispatch channels come online. Enjoy it while it last all the regular dispatch channels that are coming up are fully encrypted.
