I have FINALLY finished the renovation of my radio room. Here are some photos of the completed job, which took almost one month with some significant thought and planning prior to beginning. The furniture is "Elfa" brand. I was inspired by the shack of Rich Carlson/N9JIG to use this furniture after viewing his shack photos. All of the wiring passes through the wall into my workbench area, where all power supplies and the antenna patch panel now reside.
Bottom Row Left to Right: GRE PSR-500, Motorola XTS2500 FPP VHF, Motorola XTS2500 FPP UHF, RFSpace SDR-14 Software Defined Receiver/Spectrum Analyzer, AOR AR5000A+3 Wideband Receiver with Connect Systems CD-1 Tone Decoder, NCS3230 Audio Distribution System, Peet Brothers Ultimeter 100 Weather Station, Icom IC-R8500 Wideband Receiver, CCTV Camera Switcher, Comcast Cable Box.
2nd Row Left to Right: Three monitors for main computer, one monitor for secondary computer.
3rd Row Left to Right: Uniden BC780XLT, GRE PSR-600, Uniden BCD996T, Uniden BCD996T, Uniden BCD996T, Uniden BCT15
Top Row: The "vintage row" includes two Bearcat IV scanners bookend a Regency 10 channel VHF-HI/VHF-LO and a Realistic Patrolman PRO-77A. All are in working order. Two speakers to the right are for the secondary computer that performs unattended logging and recording.
Another view of the above setup.
HDTV Monitor (bottom), secondary TV and CCTV monitor (top).
This is the secondary station. Two BCD996T's and one BCT15 run in conjunction with ProScan software to provide unattended logging and audio recordings of received transmissions. Three copies of ProScan run simultaneously along with three different soundcards to accomplish this.
Main and secondary computers reside on the floor, which has been carpeted with rugged indoor/outdoor carpeting.
Feed computers. On the left is the HP Thin Client being used for the marine and aviation feeds. On the right is the main feed computer that provides the main feed, PCR Remote, MSP Troop D feeds, and New England Scanner Feeds Teamspeak feeds for the same. The main feed is also available at the IBN Teamspeak server.
Two of the "classics", one Bearcat IV and the Regency.
The other two classics, the PRO-77A and the other Bearcat IV.
Thanks for looking! These and some other photos can be found at this link.
