• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I have a customer that is complaining about getting the beginning of calls cut off. I'm assuming that is from the radio taking its time cycling through all the channels.

This is a DMR system with the radio scanning 4 channels. I tried looking it up and I saw there is something called "scan sweep" to change the time it takes to scan through the list. I am not seeing anything like that in the CPS 2.0 software.... Is it hidden somewhere? Does the radio even have the ability to adjust that?

No such thing as scan sweep. If you dont want users missing calls, either set up priority scan or disable it entirely.

Is it just not able to be adjusted for this model radio? It shows it in the help screen in the software

Is this an IPSC system or are these disassociated channels? If IPSC it should scan for a beacon and stay there for a while (dwell).

I'm not too sure what IPSC is. Is that What Capacity Plus is? I don't work much with Motorola radios so I'm still kind of learning the product.

It's a DMR conventional site.

IPSC is a multisite linking protocol for tier two, conventional Mototrbo.

Does anyone have an idea what I can adjust to speed up the scan speed? I know it's something that "it is what it is" but I don't know if Motorola has some sort of adjustment somewhere in CPS 2.0 for the XPR3300

Only way to "speed up" scan is to reduce the number of things in the scan list.

Have you considered reaching out to Mototola for support?

Is there a good number that I can reach them at? Do I have to be a dealer to get actual support?

The customer says they HAVE to scan these 4 channels. They are going from a trunking system to DMR conventional which is obviously going to be different when it comes to scanning.

I suggested that they just wait a second or two after the key up to start talking. Customers don't seem to like that answer though...
