Scancat Pro-2052 Settings

I have a Radio Shack Pro-2052 and have been tinkering with the various software offerings available for this radio. I kind of like Scancat and ScanControl the best from what I have tried so far.

Of the issue I have experienced with ScanCat I find there is a long delay between the scanner and the software. When I am transferring frequencies it only transfers 1 frequency every 1 or 2 seconds at best. I would like to see this transfer speed increased.

The same goes when using the virtual scanning module. There is a long delay when it stops on the channel before the screen populates with the frequency/Channel/Alpha Tag.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to speed this up? I was thinking I was missing a setting somewhere but I'm stumped.

I see a lot of features of various software that I would love to combine into 1 package. If I only were a programmer!

I don't know how Scancat sets it up, but with Scan Control there's a 'Comm Rate' slider on the main screen, right above the 'Radio Settings' button. It's not possible to predict exactly how fast you could set this before things goes awry since every serial port responds a bit differently. It does take a bit of experimenting. Scan Control will also attempt to connect to your radio at the fastest speed possible; I'm not sure that Scancat would do this. At least with the Lite version, you have to set this up manually.
