I just configured Scanner Cast to broadcast my scanner and almost got it working correctly.

I can access the connection over the internet, the tags are shown on the remote computer, but I can't get the audio working correctly.

I've tried using both the microphone jack and the line in jack on my Realtec built-in sound card. I can get the audio to play through the host computer although it sounds real crackly. If I turn the volume all the way up on the scanner and set the sound card line in/microphone jacks to full volume, I can still barely hear the sound on the remote system. I have to put the remote computer on wide open audio and put my ear right up to it and still can barely hear it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Make sure you are using the right kind of audio cable (a mono cable). If you are using a stereo cable you may find that you have to pull the jack out of the computer almost to the "first click" in order to get the audio to come through.

But first, make sure that you don't have your sound input muted. With your sound input muted it is very possible to still get faint audio to be heard with speakers turned all the weay up. In your sound properties, you should be able to click on an option for "Recording" which will pull up the recording mixer. You should see Line-In and Mic-In as options... and in some cases the same jack serves either Line-In or Mic-In. Make sure that slider for Line-In is selected and the volume is turned up.
