So please bare with me if I don't use correct terms :)

When I download and merge the new database with GRE800 software and then use the Update option to update the information I have stored I understand this has no effect on the actual scanner.

If I then simply copy the current configuration onto my scanner is it copying all the NEW information or is it simply copying my original information over again.

If not is there some place I can find SIMPLE instructions The provided ones seem to make everything Very complicated.

Thank-You

I would recommend this site ... it has a great description of the scanner's workings.

Easier to Read PSR800 - WS1080 - Pro 668 Digital Scanner and EZ-Scan/iScan Software Manual

The other thing you can do ... check the HELP in the program for more on the software. That should help you.

But to answer your ? .... if you update the library (RR data) .. your information in the program is updated. You then need to update your scanner ..
I would do the 2 items as needed. Go to Scanner / SD Card . then Copy Configuration to Scanner Memory / SD Card and if needed Copy Library to Scanner Memory / SD Card. That will update your scanner with new data.

What is described in the previous posts only updates the database on the scanner... not your scanlists.

There is an option you can run in the software to update all of your scanlists with the new information before you update the scanner.

Note: You have the ability to keep alpha tags the same as you do this.

"... but the software and such are well not very user friendly..."

IMO, if you ever get proficient with the EZScan Software, you will hear exactly what you want to hear from the speaker and you will see exactly what you want to see on the screen.
