In my post above I made a Major mistake, I wrote T102 but was referring to T126, I just don't get the signal anymore it used to be 4 bars and perfect now it's no bars ....I use outside antennas with LMR coax ....I had a sweet spot in the attic that received it great but when they added more users that all disappeared....I use RShack ground plane antennas , if you can't receive the signal i don't think the SDS will help

If you're within range, the signal is probably not decoding properly. Your set up has always been good I remember, but I'm suspecting your having simulcast issues. It might be better tomorrow and then the next day it's gone again. With your set up and an SDS scanner, you'll be all set.

You can always test using a cheap $10-$20 SDR dongle receiver to see if you can receive the signal. It's a good investment to be used in all kinds of situations and applications. They can receive simulcast systems the same way that SDS scanner can do. Then it will be clear if it actually are a simulcast issue.

Hey RoninJoliet. I travel around for work quite a bit and take a 325P2 with me when I go. When I'm home, I turn the squelch all the way up to filter out other things I don't want to hear. Most of my local home listening is still analog VHF. One time I was really confused why I wasn't picking anything up because the 996P2 in the car was blowing up, then I realized my squelch was all the way up. One quick adjustment made all the difference. You may want to check to see if your squelch setting didn't get mal-adjusted. Just a thought.

As far as the problem the OP has, I've noticed it from time to time as well on my 996P2's. It's not from simulcast. Dispatch may be clear as a bell, then the mobile is garbled coming off the same (non-simulcast) tower. I haven't figured it out either. I figured it was just my location, since most of the time when I notice it, I'm in the car driving.

Thanks for your info but I am set on "2" squelch....It's just being 25 miles away from T126 is the problem even using outdoor antenna up 30' and LMR 400 coax..... I receive T113 and T102 100% no drops or simulcasting problems at all on 996P2 scanners .... On the second story of my home in a " swat spot I can copy on my 325P2 T126 from Aurora tower, if I move two inches the bars fluctuate and it's gone !!
