Hello everyone

I got an error code 3-01 on the scanner. Looked in the owners manual to see what the code means and it said that the "general error initializing file system". I followed the corrective action that it said to do to the sd card and reinstalled it into the scanner and the same error message came up again. I then purchased another sd card formatted it on my pc and then installed the backed up ez-scan program onto the sd card and reinserted into the scanner and it came up with the same code 3-01. Am I missing something or is something wrong with my scanner? Any help would be great. Sorry forgot to mention the scanner is the TRX2 scanner.

Thank You

William

I helped someone with one of those types of scanners years ago, I bought an sd card but it just wouldn't work, I don't know what error it gave.
Was told by others that the only brand that works is a SanDisk made card and sure enough it worked.
I also suggest to get the lowest GB you can, the radio reads the whole card and it takes longer to boot up. These 16GB is about it.

Did you remove all power wait 60 seconds reapply power and try again.
SD Card should only be removed with power off.
Budd I wonder if you could just clarify. For TRX1 I noted it said to remove a battery before removing the card, I do that.
The TRX2 do we need to remove the DC power plug. Keith

You can use any partition software to partition a 32GB SD card to any lower size you want. I usually don't need more than a 4GB size from a 32GB SD card even when recording audio files. If formatting and erasing then the built in partition function in Windows can be used but it's easier to see what you do using a graphical interface to not partition the wrong drive. Partition Wizard or Partition Master works okay.
I always need to temporarily disable my antivirus software when partitioning as it's part of its protection features.
