When I change or update frequencies on my HP 1 and HP II it clears all my user data ie name, location, like I'm setting up the scanner for the first time, but it does this every time. what's up?

Does this happen just after you write your updates from Sentinel to your scanners?

Only thing I can think of is if you don't choose "Read from scanner" to upload data to Sentinel & choose "Write to Scanner". Just a shot in the dark...

I'm doing it the way I've always done. Change or choose new frequencies, erase favorite lists on scanner, then re-write favorite lists. My 536 and SD100 are working fine and don't erase user data when I update frequencies. I'm thinking I missed a version of sentinel (1) but it says all firmware is up to date and current.

The copy of Sentinel that you are using still has the default data for those settings. When you write to the scanner from Sentinel it overwrites everything in the scanner with the settings in Sentinel. Either change the user data settings in Sentinel before writing to the scanner, or read from the scanner into Sentinel to populate Sentinel with the data you want.

Check the settings in your profile.
They might be blank and overwriting your scanner's configuration

Okay, I wrote from the scanner and that seems to have fixed it, thanks everyone for your responses

Remember if you change stuff on the scanner, if you don't read the scanner with Sentinel that whenever you write from Sentinel it loses the changes.
