If they ship UPS or FedX u will get a tracking number that u can track ur order as it progresses to u.

If u get a USPS tracking number don't bother opening it as it will show you nothing.

That's not true about the USPS tracking number. I ordered from Scanner Master and got a USPS tracking number and it is showing me every movement of the package. This is the same as any other package with a USPS tracking number I have ever received or shipped.

Well good luck to u. My Scanner Master orders have all come UPS. Shipped one day and here the next Mass. to NY.
USPS sends me a email that says a tracking number has been assigned. Go to it and there is nothing there until after the item has been delivered in a week. Then they proudly announced that it has been delivered. But on at least two occasions they have marked it as delivered two and three days before it was actually delivered. There was a temp on my route who left the packages behind, but scanned them, for the regular carrier to deliver.
AMAZON last year started shipping UPS but turning item over to USPS for final delivery. What a joke. UPS moved it across half the country in two days and USPS took four days to go the final sixty miles.
That's why I keep reading that in ten years there will be no postal service and I don't think it that is just wishful thinking.

I've had both experiences with USPS. They're supposed to scan it at each step, but often they don't. It all depends on which USPS employees handle the package and how big of a hurry they're in (or how lazy they are). Some just don't bother to scan it. Most of the time my packages get scanned all the way through, but it's not a surprise to me when they don't.

I've ordered all kinds of stuff from Scanner Master over the years. The biggest problem I have is that to Canada, they will only ship via USPS, and the cheapest shipping is crazy expensive. I just recently bought two SpectrumForce antennas - the antennas were $39.90, and the shipping was $55.

To make matters worse, while USPS appears to work weekends, Canada Post most definitely does not. So this shipment for example took barely 30 hours to get from Holliston, MA to JFK, leaving on Jan 27, and then flew to Toronto. It didn't leave Toronto until the afternoon of Feb 01.

None of that is Scanner Master's fault though, except requiring me to use the postal service and costing more than the items themselves for shipping - I try to wait until I have/want to buy a number of items so that the cost is proportionally lower, but sometimes it just doesn't work out.

Ditto

And if I'm not mistaken, Canada Post doesn't track packages. If they do, the system isn't compatible with USPS.

I order lots of eBay stuff and both USPS and Canada Post will provide tracking. The trick is to use the USPS tracking number on the Canada Post website.

Right now I've got a package that USPS says is in Hamilton and Canada Post says it has left the US.

As far as Scanner Master goes, I've always had then ship my major purchases using UPS.

I always put the USPS tracking number in both ways and track it on both companies' systems at the same time (USPS and Canada Post), learned that trick long ago.

How are you able to get UPS shipping out of Scanner Master, though? When I make purchases, USPS is the only option listed. And my destination address is not one that "requires" postal service (i.e. a PO box).

I use an app which does it for me. Quite handy.

It's been a couple of years now but in the past, I phoned in my orders asked for UPS two day shipping. The brokerage charges are built into the cost so you don't get that surprise a few weeks later.

IIRC, USPS wasn't an option as they had to physically drop the package at an outlet whereas UPS would come to them.

Things might have changed since then.

Scannermaster has fell off from say a year or two ago. I bought scanners long ago from them, but now they are getting greedy and usually you can find scanner+shipping sometimes 100 dollars less elsewhere. And there return policy is heavily in there favor. I don't use them anymore I was wanting an 800mhz antenna from there and they haven't had them in stock since December.

TrackChecker Mobile for tracking packages on Android

I use the TrackChecker Mobile app on my Android device which allows a person to consolidate and track shipments from a variety of delivery companies by their tracking numbers. It is very simple to use. No need to manage multiple apps directly from UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. using this app.
