Ok so for comparison I picked up the electroline EDA2400 and tried it on four scanners. As I expected the +7db per port from the EDA2400 was too hot for my setup. Yes the good signals were nice and loud but I could tell many signals were not heard because of scanner front end overload. One example would be the VHF airband. The comms heard from the 2400 had fuzz along with the voice where the 2800 is nice and clear comm no fuzz. My setup is back to my EDA 2800 which only has +4db per port. Just posting this information for anyone guessing what to buy. I did not expect the +3db to be a huge factor but test results show otherwise. Gonna keep the EDA2400 for field testing.
