Didn't see any mention of Hill Street Blues. There always seemed to be scanner behind Capt Frank Furillo (sp?) in his precinct office.

In episode 6 "Revelations" of The Bondsman, Kitty (played by Beth Grant) comes across Hub's (played by Kevin Bacon) wrecked vehicle. She overhears talk of a murder at the local bait and tackle on her Uniden BC125AT. She rushes over there and is spotted by the sheriff, who grows suspicious of her and Hub.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the rolling zeros Bearcat 2xx scanner inside the army field tent in the movie Rambo.

And I swear I've seen an ICOM R-7000 (or could be R-71) in The Big Bang Theory, near the front door on a shelf inside Sheldon's apartment.

I watched "Airport" from 1970 last night. A bit of a campy movie, which I think was made for TV. Where else can you see a cigar-chomping George Kennedy hit full throttle to get a 707 out of a snow bank?

They did *try* to get it right as far as the use of radio in ATC and airport operations. Spotted these two receivers being used by Burt Lancaster's character.
