I recently bought a WHISTLER 1065 scanner.
I used to be really into scanning, had all the good stuff , but got out of it.
Anyway , scanning my locals using the ARC 500 software, things have changed from punching in the freq's....much easier now.
im scanning 800 MHZ freq's for my counties...but im getting other counties on these freqs as well.
ive tried only allowing the P25 with the codes that are associated with my counties, but it doesnt seem to matter.
i live in 47842 zip if anyone has any info for me
Thanks alot in advance

The ws1065 does not receive P25 Phase II.
Please consult the database before answering the OP. 47842 comes back to Clinton, IN and they're on Hoosier Safe-T which is Phase-I, The WS1065 will bring it in just fine. Welcome to the RR forums @dalex3225. Firstly please ensure you only have the site below programmed. If you're scanning more than one site then you may come across traffic from different counties you may not be interested in monitoring.

You'll need to program the control channels I listed above (frequencies ending with lowercase "c") as a trunked system to be able to follow conversations properly. A Radioreference premium subscription makes importing data direct from the RRDB to Arc500 and into your scanner possible. But there are directions in the Easier to Read manual I linked below to add a trunked system by hand (much harder to do than the aforementioned RRDB import method mentioned in the Arc500 user guide here)

Here is an ARC500 file for you to try. It has the talkgroups for Vermillion County on the SAFE-T statewide trunked system. There are no conventional frequencies. You will be able to see how to program a trunked system. This file has the frequencies for both the Newport and Clinton sites. With Multi-Site in the system set to Roam, you will scan only the site with the best signal. You will normally scan the Clinton site. If you head North, the scanner will switch to the Newport site when the signal is better than the Clinton site. Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Open the extracted file with ARC500 and Upload to Scanner. San lists as follows:

SCAN LISTS:
1. VermCo Misc
2. VermCo Fire/EMS
3. VermCo EMS/Hosp
4. VermCo Law
5. IN State Police

Glad to hear it's working. Please let me know if you have any questions about adding conventional frequencies or additional talkgroups on SAFE-T or other trunked systems.

To give you better information about accessing the RR database:
1. Create a new tab.
2. Open Radio Reference
3. Click on RR Database Home
4. Click on Browse
5. Click on Indiana on the map.
6. At this point, you can either select a county and click on Browse for conventional frequencies or Click on Menu and Trunked Systems.
7. If you are browsing a county, you will be given a choice of local trunked systems right below the Menu button.

Statewide trunked systems do not always honor county lines. A nearby Parke County unit may affiliate with the Clinton County site if it is a better signal. That happens a lot when a city like Clinton is right on a county line. If a Parke County unit affiliates with the Clinton site, you will hear it with no Parke County sites programmed. Since all of the counties are on the SAFE-T system, I would add the control channel capable frequencies of the nearest Parke County site to the frequency list in the existing system. If you wish to scan the site in Parke County as well as the sites in Vermillion County, change Multi-Site on the system to Stationary. With Multi-Site set to Stationary, all sites whose control channel frequencies are in the list will be scanned all of the time. When viewing trunked systems in the database, click on County at the top of the site list. That will alphabetize the sites by county so that they will all be grouped together. If you click on a site Name and scroll down, you will be able to view the approximate coverage area of a site. You can add the Parke County talkgroups to new scan lists.

that is an NXDN tone.
you would need a radio that gets NXDN.
151.3025KSB372RM10 RAN83CPDOPSClinton Police Department OperationsNXDNELaw Tac
and the NXDNE at the end means full time encryption, so you will not be able to hear anything.

ok guys another question,
im scanning my trunked system for my counties, thanks tvengr! Vermillion and Parke local, plus Clinton. i cannot pickup Parke County with its frequencies loaded. However, when i program 852.900, which picks up all surrounding counties (Vigo,Parke,Vermillion) Parke county comes in loud and clear. is this an antenna problem?.. side note....Parke County cars and dispatch do come in when their cars are over here.
