Hey Folks! Recently Santa Clara County EMS (AMR) introduced a new unit you might have heard on TG 2801 of SVRCS. This new unit, BHATT1 (sometimes referred to jokingly as the BHATT-mobile) was introduced a month ago, and provides emergency psychiatric transport to EPS in the county.
The Behavioral Health Assistance Transport Team will run on calls where patients are placed on a 5150 hold and do not require extensive medical care. Once an ALS Rig (medic unit) has cleared the patient and determined they can be safely transported by this unit, they will complete transport to EPS.
Just thought I would share in case anyone was curious or had no idea what this new unit did.
