With a potential closure of SCI-Rockview and the Quehanna Boot Camp, will these frequencies be used by other SCI's if they are being used at all due to PASTAR being used? (A/D is Analog/DMR)

When the Department of Corrections closed SCI Cresson (Cambria County) several years ago, all frequencies affiliated with that facility went dark, and were not repurposed. I am also with in range of SCI Laurel Highlands and SCI Somerset both in Somerset County all UHF frequencies have been dark since they migrated to Pa StarNet.

A lot of those jails went DMR and use the StarNet for transports and other things, not a lot of in building coverage with the StarNet system.

Under KXR740, 45.1600 was used primarily for transport and mobile patrols. I often would hear transport units checking in while traveling along the turnpike. As for the other simplex frequencies they were and maybe still are used while away from the prison allowing correction officers to be able to communicate while off grounds. Example, two officers are required to escort any prisoner off grounds such as to a hospital, this gives them comms among themselves. As for the frequencies listed under WPSK515, they are unknown to me

Again, that is why the StarNet Talkgroups exist now.
