Does anyone know how and what the call signs refer too? Also what unit is what? For example they will have 2014, 2012, 208, 4014, 4012, 108 etc. Also do you know what the different units are? For example you will hear King unit which is K9 I assume, 1F9 unit? Charlie unit? David unit, I assume detective. Tom unit, I assume Traffic? Bravo unit, I assume Bike. Any information would be great!

Location
Beat 17 - Scottsdale, AZ
Adam - Two officer patrol unit
Admin - Administrative staff
Bravo - Bicycle officer
Charlie - Crisis Intervention Specialists (civilian)
David - Detectives
Edward - Crime Scene Specialists (civilian)
Frank - Field Training unit
George - Gang detectives
John - Second officer in a beat
King - K9 officers
L - Single officer patrol unit (majority of patrol officers - You're hearing 2014, but it's 2L14, etc.)
Mary - Mounted officers
Nora - Municipal security guards
PA - Police Aide (civilian accident investigators/crime report writers)
Patrol - District and Watch Commanders
Paul - Public Information officers
Robert - School Resource officers
Sam - Special Investigations detective (includes SWAT, Narcs, Intelligence)
Tom - Traffic officers (Motorcycle, car or accident reconstruction detectives)
William - Detention officers (civilians)
Xray - H.E.A.T. (High Enforcement Activity Team - Patrol based special assignment officers)

As for the patrol call signs, the first number is the shift (1 = graveyard, 2 = day watch, 3 = day midwatch, 4 = swing shift) and the last number is their beat assignment. For example 2L14 is a day shift, single officer unit assigned to Beat 14.

The city is divided into four patrol districts each having five beats. City of Scottsdale - Police Districts for specific maps.

At large officers (with no specific beat assignment) are 30 and 40 series units, i.e. 4L45 is a swing shift single officer assigned to District 4. Patrol sergeants are 60 (District 1), 70 (District 2), 80 (District 3), and 90 (District 4) series, i.e. 3L73 is a day midwatch patrol sergeant in District 2.
