Scratchy volume

I have a 197 and a 106 and they are both scratchy. The noise is about as aggravating as hearing an encrypted digital transmission. They are cheap pots and are sealed. There was a pic posted on here that shows you how to drill a hole in the pot to spray the cleaner in it but I dont know where its at now. It was a detailed pic.

I've never tried to see of Spectrol sells a common control that can be used to replace the OEM controls. I suspect Spectrol made the control for GRE but it may have been OEM only.

If Spectrol had made the pot it would be better quality. Unfortunately it is made by a cheap Taiwan manufacturer and despite the poor quality GRE continued to use it in almost all their recent models.
