I have been trying to use SDR# Studio 1916 to scan the military band between 225-380 MHz AM, But I am having a problem with some kind of interference when scanning. I have had no other problems with the other bands but when I scan the military band this interference come up on the waterfall if you look at the video I posted. I have tried all the different setup but nothing really helps, the only way to get ride of the interference is to bring down my RF Gain down to around 18, but then the audio from the aircraft get really weak. I try and keep the RF Gain up over 18 to hear the audio but then then noise comes back. Can anyone tell me what could be causing this, my setup, I am using a discone antenna and have no problems with the other bands. I have no other antenna to try except a car antenna for scanning but it does not pick up much. any suggestions would be appreciated, I have been try all day to figure out how to fix this.

don't enable the "Tuner AGC" or "RTL AGC" boxes, because these modes saturated the RF Gain.

best way is controlling the RF Gain manually.

Thanks for the information, I have turned off the Tuner AGC and the RTL AGC, I don't think it's FM radio bleeding over.

Have you tried locking out the offending frequencies? MilAir is such a large band there are always various birdies and such that need to be locked out for continuous uninterrupted searching.

It's not the frequencies, if you look at the video you can see that it's some kind of interference.

I did watch the video and the anomalies appear in the same place on the band during each pass - approximately 300 - 320. It seemed to me those were active freqs that needed to be locked out. Have you tried searching the band with your 436HP hooked up to your discone? If you’re not getting the same interference then it could be any number of things such as computer power supply, proximity to Wi-Fi, USB, length of antenna coax etc. SDR does tend to be more susceptible than hardware scanners to those sorts of things. Good luck in your quest.
