I am looking to see if anyone knows of or has fabricated a mounting box, rack or cabinet for SDR's expandable to handle at least 4 SDR's. Right now, I have 2 Nooelec RTL-SDR v5's hanging off of a D-Link USB hub but am not too keen on the weight on the USB ports plus cooling of the SDR's that tend to get very warm to the touch. I might just end up fabricating something myself using a project enclosure or bar stock but would prefer finding something commericially built if available and reasonable in cost.

Finally before moving, I found a wall mounted security system enclosure ( one where a cpu, hard drives, networking was contained and locked in) I put everything in it, 16 sdr dongles, ham it up, rsp1a, power conditioner, usb hubs, multiplexer, catv splitter , intake/exhaust fans. Feedlines came through the wall into it

Thanks. Gives me somethings to ponder. You're evolution of designs is in line with my general thinking of an ultimate goal - metal enclosure for heat sinking capability, cooling fan, integral USB hub and short jumpers. Guess one can try using the SMA connectors in partially mounting the SDR's. Stacking and stabilizing the individual SDR's is really a trial and error exercise I guess.

I fabricated stuff from flat copper.

What powered hubs are you using? I'm in a similar situation but not quite as many SDRs.

PDX knows his stuff.
I have a couple of brands but the one that has the most ports and the best power supply RFI wise is the Leinsis seven port. I have two of those and one is fully populated with stuff that needs lots of power. Also very little RFI.
