I recently moved to an area where I'm surrounded by towers for simulcast system and my BCD996P2 is falling on its face. I've tried a Yagi and it helps, but I still have major issues with distortion. I plan on keeping the BCD996P2 to monitor the state system since it's not simulcast.
The system I'm planning to monitor with SDR is:
1. Will SDR help with my simulcast issues?
2. Do I need 1 or 2 dongles?
3. For a P25 Phase 2 system, what OS will I need to run (linux/windows)?
I saw a plugin of some sort a while back that looked like a local web server that captured recordings of voice transmissions so you could easily go back and play them. I currently use ProScan with the BCD996P2 and really want something similar in function that I could use with an SDR setup.
Thanks in advance for any help/guidance
