As my journey continues trying to set up the computer end of my radios, I’m having a hard time getting by SDRtrunk audio to work. The files when recorded are dead air and they’re usually 2.5GB files that seem rather large for audio? I’ve tried everything looking back at related post. I turned off record in the channel and only have record & listen selected in the aliases. I downloaded the JMBE audio library (which I don’t think I need because they are conventional frequencies), I checked the computer’s audios settings which seem right to me. I do hear the audio come over real time through the computer. I’m also trying to pair SDRtrunk with trunking recorder which isn’t working. I get a error stating, “https served on port 443, please verify that no other program is already using it and the certificate is correct”

Pretty sure JMBE is not specific to just trunked. Believe it’s needed for any audio.

Files should not be that large. I record three trunked systems and 24 hours of recordings that tally 43000 calls only takes up a half gig. Most calls are less than 20 kb.

I would hold off on Trunking Recorder until your recordings are working properly. What version of SDRT are you using? Where are these 2.5gb files showing?

The large files are probably coming from the recording settings under the channels tab which you say you have since turned off.

You set the listen and record in the alias tab, which you say you have done. I'm a little unclear if you can currently hear audio real time? If so, and you have recording selected for the alias , the recordings should be in SDRTrunk/recordings.

Like @dave3825 says, the audio file recordings are very small

I don't know if this is of any help in what I'm doing wrong? I can hear the audio in real time.

I would focus on just getting SDRT to save the recordings as mp3 and hold off streaming and Trunking Recorder for now. This is what mine is set to and all my mp3 files are extremely small.

My audio settings that Dave shared are the same.

I'd make sure everything under the channels/recording tab is off. Change your audio type to mp3. Exit sdrtrunk. Remove all the big and empty files in the recordings folder. Then restart sdrtrunk and see what populates in the recording folder.

The rest of your alias/listen/record settings look right to me and if you can hear audio you are on the right track.

Caveat, I don't use the nbfm.

JMBE is required for P25 Trunked to hear audio the rest I do not believe need it. The OP's problem is the setting of having recorded audio as WAV filetype and not MP3. Should change that setting as directed above and the file sizes should reduce down.

I had my audio settings, set to what you showed Dave. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Transmissions are coming over and nothing is populating in the folder.

Are you still running Trunking Recorder? If so it’s most likely ingesting the audio files from SDRT recording folder and placing them in Trunking Recorders folder.

I didn't have it running but when I opened it up, it was showing that it was capturing. I just stopped it, so we shall see.

Well, I'm at a total loss as I'm sure you guys are. Trunking recorder is off, audio is coming through, and now there are no files in the recordings folder.

If your aliases are set to record, its recording and placing them somewhere. Check your user preferences and verify where its set to save recordings.

If C:\your username\sdrtrunk\recordings is set, double check Trunking Recorder is not running.

I figured it out! I thought I had set up the talkgroups but it didn't save. Once I did that, its recording now! Now just to figure out the trunking recorder issue.

Thank you all for your help once again. After trying so many times to figure out the error trunking recorder was giving me when I hit, "view recordings" and it was coming up with a http 443 error. I hit the re-set button in the configure menu and I was able to open up the, "view recordings". Its always something stupid, that is overlooked!
