I'm not sure you are understanding the logic. "Unassigned" dongles when not doing anything can be freely assigned a voice channel as needed by the other SDR playing Sarasota. If you "assign" one SDR to the Manatee primary control channel (the cch that is almost always used) that can help somewhat, but if the control channel rolls to a control channel outside its bandwidth, there may ar may not be a SDR resource available. What do you mean by "two separate zones running simultaneously"? If you mean two sites are playing simultaneously, yes I see that and is the basis of my advice.
Yes that is what I mean. So since the zone is slightly more than 5 mhz wide I probably need a 3rd dongle. There is no way I can see to tell dongles 2 AND 3 to work on Manatee.

There are ways to "trick" the program to make each radio more or less cover a particular chunk of spectrum and it sounded like you were doing it until now. I don't know exactly how to do it as it is unnecessary for my situation - I use Airspys with SDRT so bandwidth is not an issue. It will take some digging through these forums to find the relevant discussion. But we've identified that you have both a signal and bandwidth problem with the Manatee site, and Sarasota works fine as you have both adequate signal and SDR resources to successfully monitor it.

Thank you for the reply. If you come up with the "trick" please let me know...meanwhile I'll fiddle around as I can here. Thank you.

Use the Control channel no alternates,

I ONLY USE THE CONTROL CHANNEL

CC’s on some systems can change on a schedule and can also be done by system admins manually at any time. They can also change if there is a failure on the system. If the day comes that the cc that’s been on solid for 13 months changes, your sdrtrunk will not decode if the alt’s are not programmed in.

What works for you may not work for everyone else so advising people to not enter the appropriate channels into sdrtrunk may cause them the ability to not decode if the cc in their system rolls.
