using SDRTrunk to monitor a P25 Control channel (Utah statewide P25 system), the "now playing" window will occasionally show "alias's" being associated with radio ID's. (RID 8580592 = SLC 9A-230). The info is displayed on the screen, but does not appear in any of the logs (that I can find). Am I looking in the wrong places, and/or is there a different program that will log this info for later analysis?

The problem I'm having, is I am seeing the Radio Alias's, but there is no record or logging of the info being displayed. Or am I missing something?

You're still not looking in the right place. Click on the control channel to highlight it, then look in the Details tab of the panel below under all the system info. The running list is there. It clears out each time you restart SDRTrunk. It's plain text so you can copy/paste elsewhere.

What were you hoping for?

I was hoping for something that did not require "copy and paste", and that would show RID association with Talk Group. But I am making it work, and do really appreciate the program and the guidance that has been offered. My main disappointment at this time, it appears that most of the RID alias's are the names of the users, and not the Department or use of the channel. But it does offer another piece of the puzzle. Again, thank-You for the guidance/replies.

I agree. The Alias logging in the SDR Trunk is useless. I hope Denny will add more support and features for automatic logging, where it is saved to a file, but that's just another limitation of SDR Trunk. I was also hoping for a lot of what you mentioned in your previous post, but this is better than nothing.

I log the aliases manually by copying and pasting the aliases and RIDs to a spreadsheet.

I would not say "useless". I accept its limitations, and have adjusted to make it work for me. it is A LOT better program than I could have made (I have zero experience it that) and I do appreciate the work that went into it. (y)
