That appears to be this antenna:

If it is an 800 MHz stubby antenna, you may be less than impressed with its performance on the Uniden SDS-100. Then again, if you are only monitoring 800 MHz and absolutely must have a stubby antenna, it may suffice.

I’ll let someone else chime in with the required adapter since I do not have that scanner. I’m just familiar with the relatively poor performance of stubby antennas in general.

We are issued Motorola APX 800 mhz radios for work. Our radio guy yelled at me when he found a stubby antenna on my portable.
In our case, we need to maximize TX/RX range. The stubby cuts performance quite a bit compared to the longer antenna that goes with the portables we use.

I imagine the case is much the same for RX on a scanner and how well (or not) a stubby would perform.
If looking to improve range, I would probably suggest Remtronix or some other antenna optimized for the frequency ranges you need to listen to.

Remtronix 920S does a good job for me when listening mostly to 400/700/800.

The Comet BNC-W100RX (with a SMA to BNC adapter to fit the SDS100) telescoping antenna I bought does do a better job with air band on VHF.

I also bought a Max-Tenna, which is not perfect for indoor scanning at home, but does a decent job across most frequency bands.

I also have a Larsen Tri-band mobile antenna with a mag mount. I have not used much in my truck and don't have a ground plane rigged up yet to try in my house. I think once I give it some metal surface under it, it might do OK in the house. If it does, I may toss it in the attic.

Back to stubbies... Not sure trade-offs for compact size will help you improve reception.

Yes, a stubby will not give you very good reception - and....
I wouldn't use an adaptor.
Remember, adding an adaptor also adds length - and stress to the SMA connector on the radio.
Which will stress the antenna connectors' solder connections.
Just sayin'...

I'd get a Remtronix 820S for 800Mhz.
It fits right into that recess around the SMA antenna connector, making a solid physical connection to the radio and has an O ring, which also seals the connection.

No sense finding an adapter for an SMA-F antenna that may not fit with the SDS100's collar around the antenna input. You'll need an SMA male antenna. If you're looking for 800mhz consider the Remtronix

That remtronix 820 looks like the Radio Shack 800 mhz scanner antennas from a bunch of years ago. They had 800 painted by the the connector

Nice. They work well. I bought a few from the local Radio Shack when they stopped selling Radio Shack items. I am wondering if Remtronix made them. If so, I would buy a couple as spare

The Remtronix REM-800B is the same antenna as the RadioShack 800 MHz scanner antenna. Radio Shack rebranded that antenna as the RS 800. The Remtronix 820S is an SMA version of this antenna.

Remtronix 820S for the win.

I was skeptical until I tried it.
Our county has a lot of 150 Mhz for local municipalities as well as 700-800 Mhz.....I believe the 150 may be on it's way out but we are a rural area with flat land......
